Established in 1867, Long Rake Spar have been supplying quality specialised decorative aggregates form its base in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District for over 145 years.

During this time the company has diversified into many market sectors by focussing on our key strength of supplying the most extensive range of quality decorative aggregates currently available in the UK. Sourced from the UK, Europe and the Far East our established product range is sold into a broad spectrum of industries.

With strategically placed production facilities, we offer national coverage to our many stockists and contractors through an extensive transport network, offering single pallet deliveries to full loads, with the option of bulk supply from our dockside locations or direct from the quarry.

Our core business can be simplified by splitting into two main product sectors:-

  • Dried Aggregates for Industrial markets including Resin Surfacing
  • Decorative Aggregates for the hard landscaping industry

As the UK’s main suppliers of dried aggregate granules to the resin surfacing industry we work closely with the UK’s leading resin manufacturers and contractors to secure many of the UK’s most prestigious resin surfacing projects.  This together with our unwavering focus on customer service and product development has established Long Rake as market leader in the supply of dried aggregate granules to the resin surfacing industry.

Our dried aggregate granules continue to diversify into more specialist industries of flooring, paints coatings and renders, white lining and highway applications.

Natural Selection of Hard Landscaping Aggregates

We supply the most extensive range of hard landscaping products to the Merchant trade and independent landscape design sector, currently available in the UK.  In addition our traditional strengths in supplying quality, clean and bespoke blends for the external render/pebble dashing sector have continued to develop and grow.  We have also seen considerable growth in the specialist sectors of water filtration and roofing.

The company expanded with the acquisition of Meadow View Stone in 2009 which provided an entry into the Garden Centre sector from its production and processing facilities at Prees, Whitchurch. The partnering of the two Companies has enabled the company to significantly progress and expand resulting in unprecedented levels of commercial growth over the last five years.
